mirrors as picture mats!
apartment therapy, at it again.
magnets!
so, at last month’s rose bowl flea market, i made one purchase: an american flag pin. i don’t really wear pins, and my fridge needed some sprucing up, so last weekend, i walked to my local blicks (YES, the same one lindsay lohan visited the other day), picked up some magnets and superglue, and voila:
american flag magnet!
the project was wayy easier than expected, because the...
i realized that when i posted this photo…
…i never introduced the superfun addition to the wall. they’re re-stickable wall decal photo frames, from photojojo. and i love them.
in fact, i love them so much that they’re up in my apartment, AND my office (office first)!
here they are after i first put them up in my office:
(disclaimer: my office doesn’t...
not cool.
so, a couple weeks ago, i stopped by this place, rehab vintage interiors, while on a walk in my new hood. considering the name of the store, and the fact that their website says they carry “unique vintage… accessories for the home and office”, i guess i kind of assumed the clock i bought was at least semi- unique and/or vintage.
um. but i guess i proved that when i assume,...
not sure what exactly it is—the tiny tray, the lucite lamp, the wise-looking suitcase— but i love this bedside table so much. unfortunately, i’d have to move far away from california to even consider creating something like it. thanks to my current proximity to some (very active!) fault lines, the flowers would be ground into the rug under the broken lamp and vases before you...
hello!
serious lack of blogging lately— but i guess that’s my prerogative (you’re welcome for getting that britney spears song stuck in your head). i’ve just been soo overwhelmed with my own creativity that i haven’t known how to start blogging about everything (…heh.). am starting with this post, which will serve as a long-overdue thank you note.
remember when my...

this is getting ridic.
a few days ago, apartment therapy covered an emerging color trend: pumpkin.
today, they discussed another trend: plum
…look familiar?

colors.
today my mom called, asking for my blog address, so she could show her friends my apartment’s color scheme. (yep, that’s my life.) thought she should have the most updated version. voila.
ps: “fawn brindle”? ha.
TURQUOISE TABLE
today i was at v’s, discussing the rose bowl flea market (this sunday!), and i said, “i want a turquoise table.” and she said, “let me show you something.”
guess what she showed me. a TURQUOISE TABLE. that her family didn’t need anymore. for real! so now i have a turquoise table.
here it is in its new home:
as the “before” picture shows, i...
new phone wallpaper!
after a year and a half with the same phone, i’ve FINALLY changed my wallpaper from the comically generic came-with-the-phone flower, to something that’s MEANINGFUL to my LIFE.
here’s why:
a) i vaguely remember seeing this/ a similar quote in my (obviously wise) grandparents’ house, back in the day
b) it matches my bedroom in my parents’ house:

my supercool friday night.
guess what i did with my friday night!
…if you guessed “took advantage of being 23 in a vibrant city with an array of cultural opportunities”, you would be… wrong.
instead, i a) hemmed (ironed & cut), and b) hung some curtains in my kitchen.
(curtain photo to come— waiting for daylight to document them doing their job)
AND THEN. i pretended to understand...
i get by with a little help from my friends

colors.
i had planned on making my living room black&white, with orange&red accents and green&blue sub-accents (just made that term up). that’s why this blog is decorated that way (for real).
but after some soul-searching (decor magazine reading. basically the same.), i’ve decided to change my palette.
here it is. (the purple should be deeper and the turquoise might get...
lamp.
here’s what i tried to do last night: a lot of things. here’s what i did last night: built my lamp.
i added it to my to-do list just so i could give myself a sticker. (i can do that because i’m a grownup!)
here’s the lamp:
in case you can’t tell, the lampshade is purple velour. FYI, i (unironically) love it.
in case you CAN tell, the lamp in front of a...
here is the point of this blog:
primary: to document my moving into/decorating my first grownup apartment.
secondary: to document my (figurative) moving into grownup-hood (so smooth right?).
tertiary: to document the way i would decorate my apartment, if i were an actual grownup slash if i had unlimited money (but let’s hope they’re not mutually exclusive).
i just started two blogs.
that is all.
